The history of Good Samaritan College of Nursing, Eluru is rooted in the vision and mission of Late Rev. Fr. Jose Kaimlett, Founder of the Missionaries of Compassion. His vision of serving humanity through compassion, care, education, and healthcare continues to inspire the institutions and ministries established by the Congregation.

The establishment of Good Samaritan College of Nursing in 2024 is a continuation of this vision. The College was founded with the aim of preparing competent, compassionate, ethical, and service-oriented nursing professionals who can contribute meaningfully to the healthcare needs of society.

The vision of the Founder continues to be carried forward under the guidance of Rev. Fr. Boban Kollappallil, Superior General of the Missionaries of Compassion, and Rev. Fr. Shiju Xavier, Provincial Superior of St. Joseph's Province, Missionaries of Compassion. Their leadership and encouragement have provided the direction and support necessary for the growth and development of the College.

This vision is being translated into action through the dedicated leadership of Rev. Fr. Ajo Edayanikatt, Secretary & Correspondent of the College, who is entrusted with guiding the academic and administrative development of the institution and ensuring that the founding vision remains at the heart of the College's educational mission.

A distinctive strength of Good Samaritan College of Nursing is its location on the same campus as Good Samaritan Cancer and General Hospital, Eluru, a 300-bedded NABH-accredited hospital. This provides students with a comprehensive clinical learning environment and opportunities for practical exposure, enabling them to connect their academic knowledge with real-life patient care.

From its beginning, the College has sought to create an environment where knowledge, clinical competence, discipline, compassion, and service come together. The institution strives to form nurses who are not only professionally skilled but also sensitive to the dignity, needs, and suffering of every person entrusted to their care.

Thus, the journey of Good Samaritan College of Nursing is a continuation of a vision that began with Late Rev. Fr. Jose Kaimlett and continues to be carried forward through the Missionaries of Compassion and its dedicated leadership.

Our Motto
“To Care and To Cure”

The motto reflects our fundamental belief that nursing is more than the treatment of illness. It is a vocation of care, compassion, healing, dignity, and service to humanity.
